How many people have moved in because of Covid-19? I did. I like the idea that I’m being protected… that three times a day room service delivers a meal, that once a week my apartment is cleaned, and my bed changed. I’m pleased there are bar carts, fun carts in our halls, activities on our dedicated TV channel, beautiful places on campus to walk safely, staff offering shopping service… I know we miss our family and friends but we’re so lucky to have text, phones, FaceTime, social media, etc. as we go through this difficult time in a place that is doing everything possible to protect us.

I am very happy living at Mariposa during these difficult times. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. We have very exciting programs each day. Each day one of the first things that I do is check the Featured Events on our internal Channel. I look forward to the physical fitness programs as well as challenging my mind with brain fitness. I enjoy the stimulating speakers like Dr. Robert Watson, it’s a learning experience. The themed events are exciting and accompanied with related goodies. We have great classical music programs with leading opera stars. In the evening I look forward to the meditation programs which help lull us to sleep after a busy day. Being here is like being on a constant vacation.

My Husband and I moved in June 2019.
Our concern was how were we going to adjust to the Independent Living new lifestyle and meet new friends. After the first week, the friendly and helpful staff from the Engage Life Team, Concierge Desk, Dining, Maintenance and Housekeeping Staffs in every way helped us transition into an active new lifestyle. We have made wonderful friends, enjoy the daily activities, throughout the week, participate in the many exercise programs made available to us and the dining experience has exceeded our expectations. In the 3 months we have lived here, my husband tells family members that living in our lovely apartment is the best decision we have made to enjoy and prolong a happy, healthful and busy lifestyle.

The people who work here are the best! They are warm and willing to help solve any problems that come up with smile, and a quick response.

The word that best describes this community is family. Both myself and my wife feel the same. This is where we are for the years ahead and we are so happy to be a part of this community.

Ode of honor dedicated to all the staff. During these last weeks of seclusion, one thing has remained steadfast… the commitment and dedication of all the staff to the residents. They have been in transition from one job to another. From meal deliveries to temperature taking, they do any job needed to in order to keep us happy and healthy. Our dear Engage Life staff seen in every area, planning activities with great creativity. Outdoor concerts on golf carts, and everything in between. When an employer is hiring staff, he or she looks for the person who is flexible and responsible, who can follow their job description, but in an emergency, they will do anything that is required of them. The employees have demonstrated these qualities and have gone above and beyond. Speaking for myself and all of the other residents, we want to say thank you and we honor you for your hard work and dedication. May you all be well and continue to care for us and yourselves until this tough time is over.

Testimonials by Family Members
It’s hard to express the gratitude my family and I have for everything you have done for Mom during her life at the Mariposa. The experience was personal as I was the one that found her new home after “extensive research”. My wife a PhD chemist wrote the agenda complete with maps, spreadsheets, reviews and of course appointments. I was instructed not to miss an appointment or visit to find just the right place for Mom. I was diligent to say the least.
I do believe you have a beautiful facility, but the difference is the people. From the introduction to the several visits I made, the reception I received from the staff to the residence was overwhelming, at that point it was an easy decision to make. Consistency is everything. You and the staff are certainly consistent. It did not take many visits to make friends with Mom’s neighbors. What a precious group of people, Mom has some very dear friends there. Kristin you are a very special person and my mother spoke of you every time I called her. Keep sharing your gift.

My mother-in-law was living on her own. Moving to Mariposa has been a game-changer. The facilities are beautiful, the staff goes above-and-beyond, and the social opportunities are endless.

The care and attention taken for everything from cleanliness, to keeping things working, to resolving problems quickly, creative special food events, art shows, delightful drivers, exceptional programming and fitness opportunities, plus giving residents a voice to share on all aspects of what’s happening, keeps Villages of Windsor a special place.
During these isolating times, the employees help residents connect via FaceTime with family outside. They screen every resident and employee every day to make sure everyone is safe. They run trivia contests on their internal television station and my mom has been winning personal training sessions!! And they have been responsive immediately if we’ve ever needed help with anything. Always a smile & kind words. I could not be more pleased with the community our family selected together for my parents to enjoy at this time of life. With Florida hurricanes and this virus, the decision we made is even more important and I remain blessed that we made this choice and that we have the resources to keep my parents enjoying their golden days (sorry for cliche).
